ChatGPT

Add Covenant MCP to ChatGPT on the web, the ChatGPT desktop app, or Codex.

Shortcut: click Copy Markdown above, paste this page into your AI assistant, and ask it to connect Covenant for you. An assistant that can edit its own settings does the setup; any other walks you through the steps.

ChatGPT on the web connects to remote MCP servers through developer mode, on the Plus, Pro, Business, Enterprise and Edu plans. On Business, Enterprise and Edu, a workspace owner has to allow developer mode first. The ChatGPT desktop app, the Codex CLI and the Codex IDE extension share one MCP configuration, so you add Covenant to them once.

Server URL
https://covenant.co/api/mcp
If your firm signs in to Covenant on its own domain, use https://<your Covenant domain>/api/mcp instead. Transport is streamable HTTP; sign-in is OAuth with your Covenant login.

Prerequisites

  • A ChatGPT plan with developer mode. Plus, Pro, Business, Enterprise or Edu. Free does not include it.
  • For Business, Enterprise and Edu, a workspace owner who has allowed developer mode under Workspace settings > Permissions & roles.
  • For the desktop app or Codex, the ChatGPT desktop app, the Codex CLI or the Codex IDE extension installed. They share one MCP configuration.
  • A Covenant account for each person who connects.
