Other MCP clients
Connect Cursor, VS Code or any MCP client that supports streamable HTTP and OAuth.
Shortcut: click Copy Markdown above, paste this page into your AI assistant, and ask it to connect Covenant for you. An assistant that can edit its own settings does the setup; any other walks you through the steps.
Any MCP client that speaks streamable HTTP and OAuth 2.1 can connect to Covenant. Sign-in always goes through your own Covenant login; Covenant issues no API keys for MCP.
https://covenant.co/api/mcpIf your firm signs in to Covenant on its own domain, use
https://<your Covenant domain>/api/mcp instead. Transport is streamable HTTP; sign-in is OAuth with your Covenant login.Prerequisites
- An MCP client that supports streamable HTTP and OAuth 2.1. Cursor, VS Code with Copilot, and most coding agents do. SSE-only clients are not supported.
- A Covenant account. The client signs you in with it; there is no API key to paste.
Add Covenant
Most coding agents can configure MCP servers for you. Paste this into your agent:
Add a remote MCP server named "covenant" at https://covenant.co/api/mcp. It uses streamable HTTP and OAuth, so no API key or headers are needed. After adding it, tell me how to sign in.Check it worked
Ask your client to call whoami. It returns your email, your organization, your role and your data scope.
